Dead Heroes Club <deadheroesclub>

An Irish Progressive Rock Band? Surely Not!

As Ireland’s only progressive rock band, and on a mission to reinvent and rejuvenate prog-rock in a contemporary context, DEAD HEROES CLUB present us with an original and modern progressive rock sound.

The band wear their influences firmly on their sleeve (GENESIS, TULL, FLOYD) and yet manage to achieve an original and innovative approach to their music. The self-titled and independently produced debut recordings signpost a band that has something to offer the world of progressive rock; a band that is developing its own sound. This is a band who have much more in their locker, DEAD HEROES CLUB are driven primarily by the songs as any listen to their debut CD will show. They are currently working hard on fresh fresh material and the second DEAD HEROES CLUB release is very much in the pre-production stages. The new songs have managed to build on the debut recordings, revealing a harder more mature DEAD HEROES CLUB.

New Bass Player & New Album News
Dead Heroes Club have a new bass player - Wilson Graham (see photos section)

The band had been working towards releasing their second album before the end of 2007, unfortunately bass player Charlie Coyle has had to leave the band for personal reasons. Dead Heroes Club wish to take this opportunity to thank Charlie for his time and talent and wish him every success and good health for the future. From a creative standpoint, this of course has set Dead Heroes Club back considerably in terms of recording and releasing the new album, as well as dashing any hopes for more immediate live performances.

Because Dead Heroes Club had been so exhaustively preparing for the new album release, the unavoidable departure of bass player Charlie was particularly exasperating - The band now found themselves in the full swing of album pre-production minus a vital ingredient - a dedicated bass aficionado. Because a session player, although available, was never a real option for the boys (who believe in the strength of a unified creative unit) the band have had to take time out to find a bass player who fitted in with both the the band's sound and the song writing ethic which dominates their musical philosophy . At last the band are proud to announce that bass player extraordinaire Wilson Graham has agreed to join their ranks as a fully fledged member.

Dead Heroes Club are now in the process of integrating Wilson into both the songs already written and the band as a whole. Already Wilson's instinct for original music has taken some of the songs in a direction previously unexplored and the band are very excited about the developing album. The release date of the new Dead Heroes Club album is now expected to be in the late Spring or early Summer '08, with supporting live shows to be announced. The band have released a few song titles which will appear on the album: 'A Time of Shadow' (a 10 minute plus piece which explores diminishing morals) and 'Stranger in the Looking Glass' (a song about how change visits us all whether we invite it or not). The band will update these pages with further news in the coming months.

Hey, Absolutely brilliant music there, I heard about you from Wilson as I get guitar lessons with him. Good old classic Prog, reminds me of early Genesis/Marillion.

Any Idea where sells the cds?

Oh yeah check out http://www.bebo.com/TFBTE its a new prog band from the Derry area, (funnily enough with 2 of Wilson's students in it) More from the Dream Theater/Symphony X style of prog though.

But again great stuff, I'll need to watch out for any gigs in the area!

Just kinda surfed by and found your site and listened to your tracks and i got to say, sounds really good, a distinct hint of Marillion and your vocals recall Fish, which i got to say is a great thing. Was really impressed, bit of a fan of prog rock, the usual suspects Jethro and Wishbone, and think Dead Hero's Club is a excellent addition to them. Well done, look forward to hearing more.
